TikTok Is Obsessed With This "Cherry Mocha" Nail Polish
by ZIZI STRATER @LOLO.NAILEDIT/INSTAGRAM There's no social media platform that moves through trends, aesthetics, and new favorite products as fast as TikTok. Though it may be exhausting to scroll through on a daily basis, when seasons start to change and new wardrobe inspiration is needed, there is no better place to be than the app. Now that the weather has officially made up its mind and decided it's fall (later than usual, but we'll take it), our For You Pages have become filled with influencers informing us what's in and what's out this season—cherry red, motorcycle boots, and, most surprisingly,Crocs are all in the mix this autumn. But the biggest fall 2023 nail trend we're seeing? Our new favorite nail color, "cherry mocha." The sweet-yet-sultry shade has been everywhere online; however, it's not just your average food-inspired manicure. Ahead, we break down the cherry mocha nail trend you're about to see on everyone's fingertips. The Trend The cherry mocha trend isn't misleading at all; the shade central to this trend looks like what we picture a new Starbucks drink called cherry mocha would look like—a deep, nearly black, purplish-maroon shade reminiscent of a real-life black cherry. @LOLO.NAILEDIT/INSTAGRAM This shade is actually has a long history, with its most recent resurgence being under the cherry mocha moniker. If you've been painting your nails since the '90s, you probably saw this shade and instantly remembered Chanel's iconic Vamp polish, which sent the world into a frenzy over the dark red-black shade. The shade has been reformulated and renamed a few times, but you can still get your hands on a similar one with Chanel's Rouge Noir ($32). @SARUHNAILS/INSTAGRAM While "cherry mocha" perfectly describes the color that's going viral (with over 3 million views and counting), it's not just a new name for a classic fall shade, it's an actual polish color. DND's Cherry Mocha ($8)—and TikTok's obsession with it—is what kicked off the trend in the first place. Cherry Mocha's rise in the trend cycle also coordinates with grungier, edgier fashion being similarly as mainstream as when Chanel's original polish first hit the scene. Influencers and fashionistas are pairing the sultry shade with everything from their casual, day-to-day athleisure to "rockstar girlfriend" makeup," leather looks, and ballet flats. Because, well, it really just goes with everything.
Learn more20 October Nail Ideas for a Moody, Autumnal Manicure
by REBECCA NORRIS @BRUSHEDBYB_ / INSTAGRAM October is officially here (where has the time gone?!), which means you may be looking for the perfect moody mani to rock during the spooky season. But as much as we enjoy a seasonal nail look, we also understand that not everyone wants to lean into Halloween with pumpkins and ghosts on their nails. With this in mind, we set out to find plenty of pretty nail art ideas for October—none of which feature kitschy accents. Instead, you can look forward to earthy, neutral tones, creative black-and-white combinations, witchy purple creations, and more. Check them out below. 01of 20 Neon Halloween Nails @YO_KESHH / INSTAGRAM Lime green, black, and orange are classic Halloween colors, but in this art deco-inspired stripe design, they're giving more "chic manicure" than "kiddy holiday nail look." We're here for it. 02of 20 Autumn Squiggle Nails @TIFFANYABBIGAILEBEAUTY / INSTAGRAM Squiggle and swirl negative space nails have been extremely popular all year. To bring them into fall, get them in autumn-inspired shades, like chocolate brown and spruce green. 03of 20 Earthy Abstract Riverbed Nails @NAILSBYCANISHIEA / INSTAGRAM October is the first full month of fall, so it's the perfect time to lean all the way into the neutral, earthy palette associated with the season. Here, you can see how an abstract approach to stripes can create a truly unique manicure. 04of 20 Vixen Red Nails @THEHOTBLEND / INSTAGRAM You can never go wrong with blood-red polish in October. Rather than any old red manicure, consider copying this jelly version, which gives it an unexpected twist. 05of 20 Clueless Cocoa Nails @PHOEBESUMMERNAILS / INSTAGRAM Checkerboard nails continue to be popular for fall 2023, as do plaid. This argyle take on the look is perfect for autumn and even nods at the Clueless trend from earlier this year. 06of 20 Earthy Abstract Mismatched Nails @NAILSBYCANISHIEA / INSTAGRAM Another way to incorporate earthy tones into your nail look is with a mismatched design. We like the looks of this one, which features trendy grid detailing and hints of pumpkin spice on a convenient short length. 07of 20 Black Drip Tips @IRAMSHELTON / INSTAGRAM Forget about a bloody drip October nail look: This abstract black-tip nail art idea creates a similar vibe without evoking the gore. As for the thumb accent—that's an actual nail piercing. 08of 20 Pumpkin Spice Nails @BROWNLUXENAILS / INSTAGRAM You may not want to rock actual pumpkins on your nails, but there's nothing kitschy about the seasonal color. While there are many pumpkin-inspired nail polishes out there, OPI Nail Lacquer ($12) in the shade Suzi Needs A Loch-Smith is particularly popular. 09of 20 Amethyst Crystal Marble Nails @SWAKNAILS / INSTAGRAM For a witchy vibe without incorporating any little faces or black cats into your nail look, consider a crystal-inspired manicure. This sparkly purple nail look is meant to look like an amethyst geode. Stunning, no? 10of 20 Autumn Floral Nails @SWAKNAILS / INSTAGRAM If you're not ready to say farewell to your favorite floral nail art, don't fret. You can upgrade the look for the season by getting your blooms painted in fall-friendly shades like terracotta, burgundy, and evergreen. 11of 20 Abstract Blob Chrome Nails @ANGELSNAILZ / INSTAGRAM Orange and silver are popular Halloween colors, but they really pop in a trendy chrome nail look with matte blobs. 12of 20 Earthy Green Digits @IRAMSHELTON / INSTAGRAM Let this be your reminder that a gorgeous October manicure doesn't require nail art. Case in point: This mossy green stunner. For a similar look, try using the Olive & June Long-Lasting Nail Polish in the shade WKF ($9). 13of 20 Mossy French Tips @IRAMSHELTON / INSTAGRAM Remember that mossy green polish from above? It looks fab when incorporated into a square micro French mani. 14of 20 Ember French Tips @IRAMSHELTON / INSTAGRAM Speaking of French manicures, there's always the option to swap out your white tips for a squash tone fitting for fall. Try the Londontown Lakur Enhanced Colour ($16) in Bee's Knees on a trendy short almond shape. 15of 20 Autumn Check @PHOEBESUMMERNAILS / INSTAGRAM Brown and green polish work together fabulously in checkerboard form. Here, the green tone borders on bluish-gray, creating an even moodier end look. 16of 20 Black Squiggle Tips @THEHOTBLEND / INSTAGRAM The wiggly black lines of this oval-shaped nail look give off a creepy, sinister vibe—all while looking chic as can be. The picture-perfect base of this manicure was created using The Gel Bottle Inc.'s BIAB #19 ($16). 17of 20 Moody Opal Nails @AMYYTRAN / INSTAGRAM Here's another witchy nail art idea. This pale opal manicure, complete with gold glitter detailing, looks fit for a magical encounter. 18of 20 Magical Chrome Nails @AMYYTRAN / INSTAGRAM If you like the idea of a solid manicure but prefer a bit more glam, consider swapping out your regularly glossy finish for a chrome dusting. Here, black nails were overlaid with rainbow chrome powder to create a metallic oxblood set. 19of 20 Eggplant Aura Nails @DISSEYNAILS / INSTAGRAM Aura nails have emerged as one of the year's biggest nail trends. Here, see how the design looks especially mystical in moody purple hues perfect for Halloween. 20of 20 Abstract Spooky Nails @BRUSHEDBYB_ / INSTAGRAM Last but not least, we have this fun mismatched black-and-white nail look. Complete with gemstones, French tips, and aura accents, it's one October nail look sure to turn heads.

Written by CELIA SHATZMAN @LOLO.NAILEDIT / INSTAGRAM Maybe you don't have the patience. Maybe you don't have a steady hand. Maybe you don't have a dotting tool. There are many reasons to avoid DIY-ing nail art; we can't all create tiny masterpieces on our fingers. That's where gradient nails come in. It doesn't get any easier than painting each tip a different color, yet the trend can have as much impact as intricate nail art. Even better, all it takes to work and wear fall gradient nails is sporting the right color palette. Autumnal hues just might be the best of any season—think shades of falling leaves, vampy reds, and rich chocolate browns. And to prove it, we've rounded up the best fall gradient nail looks from Insta. Get ready to celebrate the spooky season with this inspo. 01of 13 Down With Brown @POP_POLISHED / INSTAGRAM These shades of brown might make you want to curl up under a blanket with a cup of hot cocoa. The matte finish makes it even more chic. 02of 13 Coffee Break @PHOEBESUMMERNAILS / INSTAGRAM Whether you're feeling more of a cappuccino or an espresso, this coffee-colored mani will give you that jolt of caffeine. The sweet swirls add an extra design element. 03of 13 Put It In Neutral @MELANATED.MANI / INSTAGRAM A perfect "10," this design features a different neutral on each tip, spicing up the simple colors. The shades are also awesomely autumnal. 05of 13 Speaking French @PHOEBESUMMERNAILS / INSTAGRAM Consider this more proof that there can never be enough variations on the French manicure. Shades of brown make this double French set feel especially fall. 06of 13 Purple Reign @LOLO.NAILEDIT / INSTAGRAM From pink to deep aubergine, these colors prove you can go beyond the traditional greens, browns, and oranges and still get that seasonal feeling. 07of 13 Rainbow Bright @LOLO.NAILEDIT / INSTAGRAM We couldn't put it better than the nail artist who created this look, who describes it as "a Halloween-esque skittle." 08of 13 Hot Tip @DISSEYNAILS / INSTAGRAM Can't pick just one color? Try five with this fun French manicure, which features tips in shades of burgundy, green, and cream. 09of 13 Hit the Curve @NAILSBYCANISHIEA / INSTAGRAM A megawatt, high-shine base with matte tips? We can't get enough of this minimalist take on the two-tone French trend. 10of 13 Tanning Solution @TIFFANYABBIGAILEBEAUTY / INSTAGRAM A luxuriously long length and perfect shape make an otherwise simple mani a head-turner. 11of 13 White Hot @AMYYTRAN / INSTAGRAM There's so much to love about this set, but we'll call out two specific elements: The chevron spin on a French mani and the bright white contrasted with fall hues. 12of 13 Gold Rim @THEHOTBLEND / INSTAGRAM Go for the gold by dressing up the colors of fall with a thin gold line that adds elegance. 13of 13 Fall Swirl @GLAMMERTIZED / INSTAGRAM A delicate design and pretty fall colors make this swirly French mani a seasonal standout.

Thin Stripy Nails For very thin, striped nails, you can use a fan brush. Once your base color has dried, dip the tips of the fan brush’s bristles in a different color and brush over your nail horizontally. Wait for it to dry, then carry on with the process using any other colors you wish. Color Pairings If you want to combine two colors with your fancy nail art, follow this pairing chart to make sure your colors won’t clash. Cotton String This is a really fun and interesting idea for innovative nail art: paint your base coat and let it dry, then add a clear coat and drape and loop the cotton string so that it sticks to the still wet coat. Once it has dried, top it off with another clear coat so that the string will stay in place. You can finish it with the Christmas lights, but if it’s still too early in the year, just leave the squiggly line as is and play around with the base and string colors. Splattered Nails Use a slanted makeup brush to splatter a color (or combination of colors) on your nails for an incredible DIY Jackson Pollock-esque manicure. Simply dip the brush in polish and then in nail polish remover so that it’s thin enough to splatter. Splattered Nails Option 2 If you don’t want to ruin your makeup brush with nail polish or don’t have an extra one to spare, you can use a straw instead! Cut the straw in half (shorter means more control), dip the bottom in nail polish, and simply blow it onto your nails for the same effect. Shearing Scissors as a Tool Remember those shearing scissors you loved to use in school? Well it’s time to dig them out again. Use these scissors to cut zig-zag shapes with your scotch tape so that you can use them for the perfect zig-zag or scalloped pattern. Once it has dried, top it off with another clear coat so that the string will stay in place. You can finish it with the Christmas lights, but if it’s still too early in the year, just leave the squiggly line as is and play around with the base and string colors. Learn moreTop 8 Vitamins and Nutrients for Healthy, Strong Nails
By Amy Goodson, MS, RD, CSSD, LD Nutrient deficiencies can affect your fingernail growth and strength. Some supplements and a nutritious diet may help support healthy nails. Your fingernails can say a lot about your health. Nail beds constantly give rise to nail tissue, and adequate vitamin, mineral and nutrient intakes help support the growth, formation and strength of new nail cells. A change in the appearance, texture or shape of your nails could indicate nutrient deficiencies. Here are the 8 most important vitamins and nutrients to keep your nails healthy. 1. Biotin Share on Pinterest Biotin is a B-complex vitamin, also known as vitamin B7, coenzyme R and vitamin H. It promotes healthy cell growth and aids in the metabolism of protein-building amino acids that are essential for nail growth. Biotin-rich foods and supplements may help strengthen your brittle fingernails. A few small studies support biotin supplement use to that effect (1Trusted Source, 2Trusted Source, 3Trusted Source). One study in 35 people with brittle fingernails found that 2.5 mg of biotin per day for six weeks to seven months improved symptoms in 63% of participants (2Trusted Source). Deficiency in this vitamin is rare, and while there is no Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for biotin, the Adequate Intake (AI) recommendation for adults has been set at 30 mcg per day (4Trusted Source). Biotin is most concentrated in organ meats such as liver, but can also be found in egg yolk, dairy products, yeast, salmon, avocado, sweet potato, nuts, seeds and even cauliflower. Summary Biotindeficiency is rare, but consuming biotin through foods or supplements may helpstrengthen brittle nails and improve their growth. 2. Other B Vitamins Other B vitamins are also important for nail health. Vitamin B12 plays a role in iron absorption, as well as the development of red blood cells. Both iron and B12 are necessary for keeping nails strong and healthy. A deficiency in vitamin B12 can result in entirely blue nails, bluish-black pigments with wavy longitudinal dark streaks and brownish pigmentation (5Trusted Source, 6Trusted Source). Likewise, folate, or vitamin B9, is important for nail growth and health by contributing to red blood cell formation and the development of new cells. A deficiency in folate can cause a pigment change in your nails and make them rigid and brittle (7Trusted Source). To prevent deficiencies, adults require 2.4 mcg of vitamin B12 and 400 mcg of folate per day, though pregnant women have an increased need (4Trusted Source). Folate can be found in dark green vegetables, citrus fruits, beans, peas, lentils, nuts, seeds and avocado. On the other hand, B12 is primarily found in animal foods, such as meat, poultry, fish, eggs and dairy, though it can be fortified into other foods and beverages. Summary Bothvitamin B12 and folate play a role in red blood cell production and oxygentransportation to nail cells. Inadequacies can result in discoloration of yournails. 3. Iron Iron composes the center of red blood cells, which carry oxygen to your organs and every cell in your body — including your nails. Without iron, oxygen does not get adequately carried to your cells. As oxygen is needed for healthy nails, an iron deficiency or anemia can lead to vertical ridges in your nails or your nails may concave or “spoon” (7Trusted Source, 8Trusted Source). RDAs for iron vary considerably depending on age and gender. The recommendation for men is 8 mg per day, while that of women aged 19–50 is 18 mg per day. After women hit age 50 or go through menopause, their iron needs drop to 8 mg daily (9Trusted Source). Your body absorbs the iron found in animal foods, such as beef, chicken, fish and eggs, better than that in plant foods like dark green leafy vegetables, peanuts, seeds, beans and other fortified foods. However, eating a food rich in vitamin C together with a plant-based iron food source improves absorption. For example, eating oranges and strawberries alongside a spinach salad with beans and seeds improves your iron absorption. Summary Iron is needed to provide your cells with adequate oxygen, which, in turn, is necessaryfor healthy nails. If you have an iron deficiency, the shape and appearance ofyour nails can be affected. 4. Magnesium Magnesium is a mineral involved in over 300 reactions in your body, including protein synthesis, which is required for nail growth (10Trusted Source). Vertical ridges in your nails may be a sign of a magnesium deficiency. Despite worldwide availability of this mineral, the World Health Organization (WHO) reports that less than 60% of the US population consumes the recommended amount (11Trusted Source). The RDA is 400-420 mg and 310–320 mg per day for men and women respectively (9Trusted Source). Whole grains, specifically whole wheat, are a rich source of magnesium. Dark green leafy vegetables, as well as quinoa, almonds, cashews, peanuts, edamame and black beans, are good sources, too. Summary Adequatemagnesium intake is crucial to prevent vertical ridges in your nails. Thismineral also helps with protein synthesis and the formation of new nails. 5. Protein Nails are primarily made of a fibrous structural protein called keratin. This is what gives nails their strength and resilience. It also protects your nails from damage or stress (12, 13Trusted Source). Interestingly, the keratin you see is actually dead. Nails are formed by dead cells, which your body sheds as new cells push up from underneath (12). Eating enough protein through your diet is essential for boosting keratin production and thus creating strong nails, whereas low protein intake may cause weaker nails. The RDA for protein is 0.36 grams per pound (0.8 grams per kg) of body weight per day. This equals approximately 55 grams of protein per day for a 150-lb (68-kg) person (14Trusted Source). However, the Acceptable Macronutrient Distribution Range (AMDR) allows protein to account for 10–35% of your total daily calories — significantly more than the RDA (15Trusted Source). Protein can be found in animal foods like meat, poultry, fish, eggs and dairy, as well as plant foods, such as soy, legumes, beans, lentils, nuts, seeds and whole grains. Summary Adequateprotein intake is needed to produce keratin, which is responsible for keepingyour nails strong and resilient.

Learn more2023's Biggest Nail Trends Have Something For Everyone
By Jessica Harrington Every year, we get excited about new beauty trends. In 2022, nail art flourished, paving the way for this year to be even more epic. Given the nature of at-home manicures and the limitations of our own amateur nail skills (which, we will admit, did mildly improve during the past few years), we're ready to enlist the expertise of professionals to help us try all the newest nail trends of 2023. That's why we asked the industry's top manicurists to share all the fun nail-art trends you'll be seeing everywhere this year, and their answers have us eager to change up our manicures ASAP. To preview, you can expect people to wear bright and bold colors among the top nail-color trends of the year, in addition to muted looks like "rich girl" nails; experiment with fun finishes with chrome nails; and load up on intricate textures. The best part is there's something for everyone: dark, goth-inspired nails à la Wednesday Addams; aura designs to suit your every mood; and so much more. Whether you're looking for inspiration for popular nails to take with you to your next salon appointment or searching for fun designs you can do on your own at home, we've got you covered. Keep reading to see new nail styles worth trying in 2023. Nail Trends 2023: Rich-Girl Nails Rich-girl nails are proving to be a popular nail style for 2023 after stars like Jennifer Lopez, Marsai Martin, and Hailee Steinfeld wore the look. The manicure is minimal, clean, and very chic. "'Rich girl' nails are a modern take on a sophisticated classic," celebrity manicurist Tom Bachik previously told POPSUGAR. "[The] color is a creamy, full-coverage nude playing homage to the greige inspiration originally seen with Chanel." Nail Trends 2023: Rich-Girl Nails Because the rich-girl nail trend is all about the color, you can wear it on any shape. Nail Trends 2023: Rich-Girl Nails Rich-girl nails are perfect for year-round wear thanks to the minimal style. Nail Trends 2023: Aura Nails You've probably seen aura nails on your social media feed at least once in 2022, but it's predicted to be huge in the next year. "The style features a circular ombre effect that emulates a glowing aura," Pattie Yankee, consulting manicurist for Dashing Diva, tells POPSUGAR. Not only is it stunning, but it's easy enough to re-create at home on your own. Nail Trends 2023: Aura Nails To be clear: aura nails don't have to feature your actual accurate aura reading, but rather utilize colors that mimic the colors of the body's chakras and energy fields. (Think swirls of colors that diffuse outward, starting in the middle.) Nail Trends 2023: Aura Nails Rita Pinto, founder of Vanity Projects nail salon, previously told POPSUGAR: "It's very New Age meets Gen Z because the colors of the manicures are way more interpretive and expansive than the usual aura-chart colors. I've also heard them be referred to as 'color trips' in the salon by clients." Nail Trends 2023: Ballerina-Slipper Nail Shape For the last few years, popular nail shapes have always included oval or round. In 2023, however, it's getting a little more fun. The proof? "Ballerina slipper" nails are trending. "To break it down, it's a monochromatic french tip in an almost-coffin-shape nail that resembles ballet pointe shoes," manicurist and Orly educator An Cao previously told POPSUGAR. "It's really girly and pretty." Nail Trends 2023: Ballerina-Slipper Nail Shape To get the look, Cao recommends you be specific at the salon. "Ask for a coffin-shaped nail with round edges and a pink french tip with a sheer pink base." Nail Trends 2023: Ballerina-Slipper Nail Shape While you can certainly wear the trend on your natural nails, if you don't naturally have the length to make this shape work, you may need to ask your manicurist to apply gel extensions first. Nail Trends 2023: Chrome Finishes Perhaps the biggest trend in 2022 was chrome nails, and that will be continuing into the next year. "It won't be a surprise to see chrome or metallic nails all over," says manicurist and LeChat nails educator Hemi Park. Expect to see chrome finishes across a range of different colors — silver, gold, blue, and pink, to name a few. Nail Trends 2023: Chrome Finishes Like any other nail design, chrome can be used on the entire nail or as part of a nail art look — like french manicures, stars, and more — and the latter take will be a new twist on the trend you'll see a lot of in 2023. Nail Trends 2023: Chrome Finishes When the trend first hit the mainstream, finding the chrome pigment you need to create the look was difficult and expensive. Now that it has become more popular, you can find the finish just about anywhere nail products are sold, including most salons. Nail Trends 2023: Layered Textures 3D nails are nothing new, but embrace even more drama with layered textures in the new year. "This is when multiple textures are encased in separate layers to create dimension," says celebrity manicurist Elle Gerstein. You can embrace this trend with different patterns, embellishments, or decals — or all of them all at once. Nail Trends 2023: Layered Textures This is one way to make a statement with your nails. Take this gold detailing with pearl and charm accents. Nail Trends 2023: Layered Textures For an easier take on the trend, Gerstein suggests playing with your finishes. "Mattes and shiny options in polish and gel make it easy to achieve the layered texture look for DIYs," she says. Nail Trends 2023: Jelly Nails Jelly nails have been a celebrity mainstay for the last few years, but it's also a trend you're going to want to take a bite out of in 2023. "Like lip gloss for your nails, we'll see these semi-sheer shades interpreted in multiple color ways, such as juicy reds, pinks and oranges, blues and smoky grays, as well as paired with a chrome finish — resembling sea glass on your nails," Yankee says. Nail Trends 2023: Jelly Nails The semi-sheer, shellac-esque finish also gives off Y2K vibes — like the jelly shoes that have also made a recent comeback this year. Nail Trends 2023: Jelly Nails If you want to try your hand at re-creating the trend at home, we're sharing our favorite jelly-nail-polish options here. Nail Trends 2023: Opalescent Polish Thanks to Hailey Bieber, glazed-doughnut nails reigned supreme in 2022, but for 2023, we're stepping up our game with opalescent nail polish. "Get dreamy nails with shimmer-stacked shades that shift with every twist and turn of light," Thea Green, founder of Nails.Inc, tells POPSUGAR. "Pearlescent polish is all about the shade-shifting magic, so your nails will always look different depending on the light and the angle." Nail Trends 2023: Opalescent Polish While many brands offer opalescent shades in polish form, you can also try press-ons with the finish from companies like Static Nails or OPI. Nail Trends 2023: Opalescent Polish While you can choose a polish with an opalescent finish, you can also DIY the look with a luminescent eyeshadow and a clear top coat. (Follow these steps here to try the hack yourself.) Nail Trends 2023: Airbrush Nails "Airbrushing has been a tool in the nail industry for decades and slowly disappeared, but will be making a comeback as ombré nails [become more] popular," says Park. "Airbrush nails will stay for a while as trend as we are witnessing ombré [looks] trending like ombré french manicures, which require perfect blending of colors." Nail Trends 2023: Airbrush Nails Like aura nails, the key to this trend is all about blending, blending, blending. "We'll be reaching for airbrush guns and starting to create flawlessly blended blushing accents on the nails," says Park. Nail Trends 2023: Airbrush Nails You can add designs to your nails using stencils and an airbrush machine, like this blue and black star manicure. Nail Trends 2023: Goth Nails Take a page out of Wednesday Addams's book and embrace dark, goth-inspired nails — another fun trend for 2023. "Goth is so in right now, I have to hold myself back from releasing only goth looks," Braelinn Frank, founder of Rave Nailz, tells POPSUGAR. Nail Trends 2023: Goth Nails When a swipe of black polish just won't do, add either an accent nail or some extra texture in an equally dark or moody color — think gray, red, or dark blue — to give your manicure some gothic flair. Nail Trends 2023: Goth Nails To get the look, Frank suggests the Cast A Spell Nailz ($23) or the Bad Witch Nailz ($23), which are part of the Rave Nailz signature collection.

Learn more6 Nail Trends That Are Going to Be Huge in 2023
BY LAUREN MURDOCH-SMITH The year 2022 was a big one for nail trends, with celebrity manicures going viral and the most in-demand manicurists becoming fully-fledged influencers. So what does this year have in store? From low-maintenance styles to elevated nail accessories, these are the five nail trends set to take over your Instagram feed in 2023. Subtle Chrome Photo: Getty Images Chrome doesn’t automatically mean bling. OPI global ambassador Harriet Westmoreland predicts that chrome, but not as you know it, will be big for 2023, pointing to the shade’s grown-up evolution. Westmoreland will be using chrome but over opaque and sheer base shades, giving nails a glossy, healthy appearance. National nail studio Townhouse has created Dazzling Disco, a chrome-topped opaque design that’s a new take on the summer’s glazed doughnut nail trend, which was inspired by Hayley Bieber’s ultra-shiny manicure. Try a milky shade topped with chrome for a glazed, glossy finish. Clean, Simple Nails The trend for healthy-looking hair followed a period of intense grooming and maintenance in lockdown. Now, nails are following suit: expect to see minimal manicures that show off healthy, pristine nails buffed to perfection everywhere you look in 2023. “Shades like OPI’s Bubble Bath and Love Is In The Bare are perfect for clean, simple nails,” explains manicurist Iram Shelton. These colors hide any imperfections while enhancing the nails for a look that is clean, well-manicured, and healthy. Low-maintenance everyday nails, sorted. Barely-There French French manicures had a mini comeback last year, but for 2023, they’re even more desirable. “French manicures will be barely there and very thin and natural for 2023,” says Westmoreland of the updated classic. Think hardly noticeable, fine white tips that make hands and nails look chic and expensive. You’ll also see these fine lines applied in a reverse French—just as simple and impactful. Nail Accents
